Innovation Scola (iScola) aims to support the success, school retention and educational projects of students aged 3 to 17 by equipping and training teachers in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT).

To achieve this mission, we seek to:

  • equip teachers by designing and producing free educational products adapted to their needs.
  • train teachers in the use of information and communication technologies.

Stéphanie Barker

Executive Director, Space for Life Foundation

A specialist in managing large projects with strong communications, partnerships and philanthropy components, Stéphanie Barker joined the Space for Life Foundation in the fall of 2019 as Executive Director, to lead the philanthropic development of Space for Life, Canada’s largest natural science museum complex. Most recently, she was the Assistant Executive Director of Quebec’s first pediatric palliative care home, the Lighthouse Children and Families, after serving as Chief Operating Officer of Campus Montreal, the major fundraising campaign jointly led by HEC Montreal, Polytechnique Montreal and the Université de Montréal from 2009 to 2017, which had an impact of over $1 billion in investments in Montreal.

Serge Carrier

President, Académac Management

After working for 13 years as a science and computer science teacher at the secondary and college levels, Serge Carrier specialized in instructional design and the development of digital educational applications.  His research focused on the integration of hypermedia in learning environments.  For 17 years, he directed Micro-Intel (CogniScience), a major multimedia publishing house that has received more than 100 awards. His interest in artificial intelligence then led him to California where he served as Chief Operating Officer of APOMETRIX (FGS), an American company offering facial recognition solutions. In 2006, back in Quebec, he collaborated in the development of custom projects for the distance learning company SOFAD, where he is now Director of Development and IT. Very active in corporate governance as a board member, he is notably involved with SODEC, Éducation Internationale, MediaSmarts, Musilab…

Serge Carrier

Sandy Maldonado

Accountant, CREO

With several years of experience in the accounting and finance industry, as well as a background in accounting, Sandy joined the CREO team as an accountant in 2021. Arriving in Quebec in 2010, she quickly started learning French, followed a technical training in Business Management at the Cegep, and then continued her studies at the ESG of UQÀM. Since her young age, Sandy has always been involved in her community. In her home country of Colombia, she participated in various government programs to help the underprivileged through census taking. Later, she made it her goal to bring happiness to the residents of a CHSLD by being an animator on Saturdays. Now, she sits on the board of directors of an organization that combines education and technology to help students achieve more.

Caroline Julien

President, CREO

Winner of the Fernand-Seguin Fellowship, Caroline Julien has more than twenty-five years of experience in science popularization in the fields of multimedia, journalism, television, museology and educational animation. In 2001, she founded CREO (www.creo.ca), a Montreal-based studio that seeks to innovate in education. A pioneer in serious gaming, CREO helps its clients inform, captivate and engage their audiences through effective, memorable and entertaining discovery, learning and training experiences. 

Caroline Julien

Chloé Benaroya

Chloé Benaroya is an innovation and HCD (human-centered design) coach. During her career, she has participated in the development of digital platforms for children such as Mini-TFO, Bayam, Woozworld.com and has produced numerous educational games, websites and interactive or virtual scenographies for ONE DROP, Hachette, Bayard, Gallimard, Flammarion, the Louvre. She was director of the Montreal branch of the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt educational group from 2013 to 2017 and currently works at Manulife.

Me Christian Bolduc, LL.B.

President and CEO, BNP Performance philanthropique

Christian Bolduc is CEO of BNP Performance philanthropique. Christian completed his training at the École d’entrepreneurship de Beauce where he directed the philanthropic project “Mouvement Horizon Mégantic” which raised $2M and aimed at rehousing 12 families affected by the July 2013 tragedy. Christian Bolduc was a member of the jury of Forces Avenir (2009-2018) and of the board of the philanthropic management program of the Université de Montréal (2014-2019). He is also a member of the Groupement des Chefs d’entreprises du Québec, a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medalist and a member of Imagine Canada’s NPO Standards Program Committee.

Albane Français

Director of Communications and Partnerships, SYNTHÈSE – Pôle Image Québec

Albane has worked in the digital creation field for 15 years. She began with École NAD and then held various positions with the production studios URBANIA MEDIA and CREO. At SYNTHÈSE, Albane is in charge of communications and partnerships and seeks to promote Quebec’s digital creation ecosystem while bringing forward SYNTHÈSE’s expertise in training and employment. Her range of experiences has given her an excellent understanding of future issues and challenges facing the digital creation sector.

Judith Cajelais

Teacher and founder of the Edu GoPro tutoring service

With more than 15 years of experience in the field of education, Judith Cajelais has the desire to facilitate the schooling of children and seeks to surround herself with competent people who care about the development of the full potential of young people. In order to achieve her goal, she focuses her actions on supporting the various people involved with children and on projects that allow them to discover themselves while exploring what the future may hold for them.

Jean-François St-Cyr

Program Manager, Consortium for Research and Innovation in Metal Processing (CRITM)

Mr. St-Cyr is a biologist, specialized in knowledge transfer and in the implementation of partnership approaches. With his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology and his master’s degree in organizational development and management, he has a diversified professional background.
He has held various management positions in scientific organizations (Consortium de recherche en transformation métallique, Centre de référence en agriculture et agroalimentaire du Québec) as well as in educational organizations (Aquarium du Québec, Centre de transfert pour la réussite éducative du Québec, Boîte à science, Jardin zoologique du Québec, etc). It is with his passion for innovative pedagogy that he joins the ranks of iScola in the summer of 2021.
